Now, we're getting into the actual part about you. The small steps part is a portion of the guide to help you get set up and ready for role playing. Please read through this part carefully, seeing as it is of great importance and will help you get through the Character Biography step (+)with extreme ease!

Once you've registered, make sure that you go into your Profile (found at the top, right under the banner) and modify the whole thing. Which means, if you own a site, put it into that small field. Your Display Name, switch it to your characters first and last name, and make sure it is grammatically friendly. Ex: jessicalowell, Jessica Lowell

Finished with your display name? Alright, but, before you leave this step, remember that your display name is different from your login name. Your display name is only the "shell" of what your account looks like when you post on it. If you were to sign up as "louise", and you changed your name to, "Louise Porter", you do not, however, log in with the name of, "Louise Porter". It stays the same as when you registered, "louise".

AVATARS; Now, to the fun part! Your character avatars and signatures! Remember that on ProBoards, the maximum size for an avatar is currently 100x100 pixels (100 in height, 100 in width). The field will ask for the URL of your avatar, paste the URL into that field and then write in the dimensions of it! If it is 90x90, that’s what you put in. If you have troubles finding out the dimensions, right click the image and look down at the bottom of the white box. It will say Properties, click on that and then look at the small field that tells you the two numbers. Those are the dimensions!

SIGNATURES; One of the best parts of the Modify Profile page! Everyone on ProBoards has a limit to 500 characters in their signature. A "character" is a letter, so if you were to type something like: the dog walked across the street. (30) - That is 30 characters/letters! However, if you decide to use a graphics piece, the signature may not exceed 500x300. If it does, it will stretch the forum and a staff member will remove the signature.

Once finished with your profile modifications, please read further. Now, we are going to give you a bit of information that 'AABoR' excels and lives on. Here are a couple points that you will need to know in order to survive.

• When applying for a canon character, you will need to have a thorough and approved application, before you are placed in the "Accepted" group. Since a canon character is such an important aspect to the site - we need you to prove that you're dedicated before you begin here. So, to reinforce and ensure that, you will need to accumulate at least 15 posts. Yes, you're allowed to have a maximum of 10 OOC posts, but, the others need to be role playing posts - to show us you're legit.
  
  
  
• Female pirates are somewhat limited here. Within the current bans thread, there is a list and more information about female pirates, how many are taken, and when WBC will be open to taking in more. So, before you apply for as a female pirate, please make sure that there is room on the list - or else you will be denied. We would also like to draw to your attention that a wench is not the same thing as a female pirate. A wench is a female that lives in a pirate town and shares pirate beliefs but, she does not go pirating’. So, if you want to be a wench, there is always plenty of room for you.
