THE MORNING STAR

The Star is a smaller but infinitely faster ship than many would give her credit for. She is not the grandest of vessels; her paintwork is chipped and faded, her sails are stained with wear and her insides could do with a good clean-out, but she takes advantage of the fact that she would oft be overlooked by those who would seize her. She has a shallow draft of just 8 feet, a grand advantage against the larger ships favoured by more egotistical pirates as if she cannot outrun them she can most definitely take to the shallows and get out of gun-range. Her smaller hold means that she can carry treasure and other goods but sparingly, though the blessing of this is that she only needs a crew of 20 to sail her. Sadly, she recently had her bottom ripped out on an unavoidable reef and is presently out of commission until she can be repaired.
