The tavern was sticky, humid, loud, and was not her cup of tea tonight. Standing up from corner where she sat, the brunette squeezed herself out from between two large, greasy men. Holding her breath, green eyes looked for the exit as foul body oder mixed with alcohol, mimicked the smell of vomit. Scowling, Annelise began pushing the barmaids and the drunkard out of her way with a bit more force. While they protested and squealed after her, Annelise was determined to breathe fresh air. As she reach out for the tavern doors, Annelise let out a sharp gasp when the doors burst open. A new group of rowdy pirates caused an uproar as she made another attempt to leave the tavern. However, upon taking a step Annelise was pushed into a stranger. With a scowl on her face, The pirate lass whipped around and spat at the stranger.
"Watch yourself." she growl to the stranger, unable to see their face due to the dim lighting of the tavern. With a subtle sway in her hips, the young woman made contact with the tavern doors.
The night air was perfect as the wooden doors slammed shut behind her. Taking in a deep breath, Annelise sighed upon exhaling, underneath the glow of the full moon. The smell of night blooming jasmine was divine to Annelise's senses as she continued to look upon the sparkling waters of the tortugan bay. Left hand reaching into a pocket of her black, fitted breech's, the young woman pulled out a small brown, leather sack and held it tightly. There was nothing in it. Annelise had spent all her currency on Rum. As she made to put the sack away, Annelise's focus switched to the old, salty dock (which still managed to stand day after day of abuse), currently was home to four large ships, two small boats and several half sunken dingies for the night. A sly smile crept up onto Annelise's soft lips. It was half past midnight in Tortuga. the one time captains leave their ships defenseless from little thieves like Annelise herself. Clearing her throat, LeBelle made to take a few steps. Upon doing so, the realization of how impaired she was took over. A small giggle escaped her mouth before a stern expression took over as her boots finally met the sand. Bending down, Annelise removed her black boots and proceeded toward the half rotting dock. Each step she took was a challenge as she fought the need to sway back and forth a bit. However, her greatest challenge was now upon her.
In nothing but a captain's shirt and black breeches, Annelise hoped up on the slippery dock and crept silently from ship to ship, looking for anything she could pawn or treasure that had yet to be hidden. Jumping down from a rather gross ship, Annelise only had one last ship to search. Walking toward it in caution, the pirate lass found that she felt a little intimidated by the color and sized of the ship before her. Black in color and sails, Annelise couldn't help but fight her drunken curiosity.
Taking hold of the thick rope cables, Annelise began to climb up the side of the mussel encrusted ship. While the rest of the ships had docking planks, this ship seemed to be hiding something. Whether she was right or not, there was only one way to find out; Going aboard. usually Annelise stayed away from dark ships yet this one held her interest in full. In the back of her mind, she felt like she knew this ship but how? She couldn't recall ever being aboard a ship like this. As she pondered, Annelise finally stood on the main deck.
An eerie sensation passed over her for a moment, sending shivers up her spine. Composing herself a bit, Annelise strode forward, running up the stairs to what she assumed was the captain's quarters. Hand hovering just over the handle, Annelise barely touched it before the door seemed to open by itself. Anxiety and adrenaline coursing through her body, as Annelise hide around the corner. She stayed put looking for the easiest exit out. However, upon getting ready to leap into the dark waters below, Annelise saw light coming from behind her. She froze and stood as still as possible, just waiting for someone to raise the alarm. Yet no alarm came. No voice, no footsteps, nothing. Relaxing, Annelise slowly turned to find that the door to the captains quarters was wide open, exposing the orange glow from candle light. Getting closer, Annelise stepped in with caution before she began to raid the cabin.

Ahh, Tortuga; where the rum was strong and the women stronger. Although it was an infamous pirate port, it was never raided and there were rarely arrests made while docked. Not that this would help tremendously in Jack's situation as the persons he happened to be hiding from were pirates themselves. But, he could dock for a day or two to gather supplies and have a bit of rest before he headed off again. He didn't have any specific plans in mind until he figured out that blasted map and how to read it correctly. Honestly, the Fountain of Youth was out there somewhere and he was going to be the one to find it. Until then...well, he had quite a bit of life left in him, didn't he? Jack was a bit dismayed to see that his favorite tavern was full to the brim with people jostling together in their sweaty drunkenness. It was never a good idea to pack yourself in a small space with no easy exit, surrounded by inebriated pirates who tended to forget the Code when they'd thrown back a few. Some of his most famous stories were based off of a good bar fight that started out that way. Well, the least he could was head straight for the bar to procure himself a bottle of rum and go for a nice, moonlit walk on the beach. His crew didn't mind the crowd and drove right in with him following close behind, but on his way to the bar a young woman was jostled into him. It had been on the tip of his tongue to offer an apology carefully disguised under a mountain of innuendo, but she surprised him with an unnecessarily tart warning. His eyebrows rose as he watched her go and he was just alert enough to notice the slight waver in her step and the not so subtle leers of a few men who'd taken notice of her as well. So much for a quiet night to himself. He quickly paid for a bottle of rum before slipping out to follow the young girl down the main street. It was late enough that everyone was either drinking or in bed with any various manner of illustrious harlots that the port provided. He swayed back and forth across the street idly, paying special care to keep his direct attention away from her in case she turned around but he was sure to keep a close eye; she was much too young and far too pretty to be venturing out on her own. At first when he noticed her slipping her boots off at the dock, he thought she may have been involved with one of a crew that was docked but it didn't take him long to notice the all too familiar look that was usually followed by a grand scheme. And true enough as he watched her, the bonnie little lass moved from ship to ship presumably to find whatever she could steal. He was content enough to let her go about her way, even keeping a lookout in case one of the captains came back to catch her in the act. That was until he turned again to see her tiny little bottom climbing over the railing to his ship. It took a full minute for the gravity of the situation to sink in, during which he paused to be impressed that she was able to climb up the ropes that had been left down in replace of a docking plank. But once the initial shock faded, he set off behind her in the hopes that he could catch up before she found anything too valuable. He hadn't been carrying the map with him, but had it hidden in his cabin; he wasn't worried about Barbossa or the crew snatching it because they all believed he carried it on his person at all times. Safer that way. He caught up with her just as she was slipping into the cabin and a small growl escaped him. He'd always valued his privacy since he'd gotten away from that God-awful mess his father liked to call a home at Shipwreck Cove. He'd strangle her pretty little neck before he let her run off with any of his things. His mind ran through a checklist of what was important there.: his hat, the map, his coat.....okay, it wasn't much but it was the principle of the thing. Besides, it was such a warm night he hadn't needed much but there were always things he wouldn't let off his person or out of his sight. He slipped in behind her silently and watched her rifling through his things with an unnatural rage coursing through his veins. It took all his effort not to slam the door to scare her out of her search, but he didn't want to wake any of the crew that had stayed on the ship, he wanted the pleasure of taking care of this all on his own. So, he shut the door just as quietly as he'd come in, growling in his best menacingly low voice, "I believe you've misplaced yourself, lass, and if you think you're getting off this ship with so much as one tiny trinket, you've got a few things to learn. I'd be happy to pat you down myself just to be sure." He locked the door behind him with a tiny flick of his fingers for good measure. word count: 915. tagged: Anna outfit: It's Jack.... notes: ----

As Annelise snooped through the drawers and small hutch that sat against the few walls of the ships cabin, she found many odd trinkets and coins, a few of which she pocketed before moving from the cherry wood hutch to the large desk that sat near the back of the captain's quarters. Many maps lay spread out over the aged desk top, tracking untensils and a black, leather bound book that was simply titled 'Log' on it's cover. A curious eyebrow went up as green eyes lingered over the book, right hand reaching out to touch it gently. However, just as her finger tips graced the item, a low and dangerous voice came from Annelise's left, toward the only exist of the captain's quarters. A small gasp escaped her lips as her head turned swiftly in it's direction with eyes wide open.
I believe you've misplaced yourself, lass, and if you think you're getting off this ship with so much as one tiny trinket, you've got a few things to learn. I'd be happy to pat you down myself just to be sure."
There blocking the door, Annelise found a man with dreads and a bottle of what she believed was to be rum in his hands, staring down his nose at her from across the room. She was suddenly very thankful for the desk between herself and the pirate, perhaps captain, who suddenly became very imtimidating. Whether it was the tone of his voice, his dark features, or the fact that she had been caught, panic coursed through her viens when she her the rattle and click of the door being closed and locked behind the man that stood before her. Realizing she was locked in, Annelise looked around wildly for a possible escape. However, the only thing that came to mind was the fact that she might have a chance to escape if she could somehow break the medium sized bay windows behind her and bail into the cool water of the caribbean under the moon light.
"And who are you to stop me?" She questioned boldly, slightly fearful of how the situation might play out. However, she held a brave face and held her head high, looking the stranger right back in the eyes. a slight shiver passed down her spine as she peered back at the shadowy eyes. "Who are you to taking my plundering?"
But alas, she would first need to find something heavy enough to throw and break the glass. Swallowing hard, the brunette kept her eyes locked on the figure before her, while her hands fumbled around for something with weight to it. After what felt like forever, Annelise's numble finger's wraped themselves around an empty bottle of rum and made to throw it in the direction of the glass. A smile attempted to break free across her gentle features but she didn't want to celebrate before she knew the outcome.

A small smirk pulled at Jack's lips at the lass's reaction; he did so like intimidating people. But her wide, strikingly pale eyes gave him pause. She looked so vulnerable until she opened her mouth to retort. He had to admit, he did so like women who could hold their own in a battle of wits whether it was intense negotiation or just a verbal sparring. She even got extra points for daring to look him in the eye, something virtually unheard of in any gentlewoman except Elizabeth who didn't really count as she was mostly pirate anyway. He took half a step closer when she questioned him. Who was he? Well, "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow, love." Would people never learn? Especially here in Tortuga where he was really known, he would have thought she would recognize him. "And I happen to be captain of this very ship and owner of what you mistakenly claim as 'your' plundering. You see, because I've already plundered said plundering into my plunderage." There, crystal clear. While they were talking, he didn't miss her hands groping around his desk. He'd thought she was looking for a weapon to defend her delicate sensibilities against such a blackguard such as himself. He didn't take such things personally; even though he had never hurt a lass in his life, he knew most pirates would jump at the chance. What he hadn't accounted for was that she intended to break his bloody windows. He watched the bottle leave her hand almost in slow motion and his mind wandered a bit to when he'd left that particular bottle as he was reading his map. Snapping himself out of the miniature trip down Memory Lane, he drew his pistol and aimed the single shot at the bottle. His smirk widened as the bottle shattered and the pieces fell to the floor. It was almost too easy for him and it did take him back to his teenage years when he would practice his aim by throwing bottles off the ship. The pistol, now empty, got tossed onto the desk between them and he took another few, lazy steps closer. "That wasn't very nice, lass. I'm afraid you're hurting my fragile little heart here," he patted his chest gently with a pout not many could resist. "Now, what say you and I come to a little..agreement, eh?" His intentions were strictly honorable, but he probably ruined that fact by letting his eyes trail over her body, lingering a bit lecherously on her more well-filled-out areas. He did step back a bit to give her some space and indicated the desk chair. "Please, sit." It was more of an order than a request and she didn't really have much choice as any attempt to run could be easily blocked and he would probably very likely catch her if she did manage to unlock the door fast enough. He took to leaning against the desk, popping open the rum bottle to take a good long drink before offering it to her innocently. Annelise's hands flew to cover her ears when a loud shot sounded in the cabin. The sound of glass breaking, littering itself all over the floor made the brunette almost sink low to the ground, caught completely off guard by the gunshot. Almost shaking, her wide eyes once more found the stranger's before her. clenching her jaw, Annelise managed to her keep her mouth shut, more so in fear that the next shot would involve her. However, it was to her surprise when the man made to toss his weapon seemingly carelessly on the desk between them. So, she was in the presence of a captain. Captain Jack Sparrow. the captain of the ship she had intended to plunder. While the name didn't exactly ring a bell at first, after a few moments of taking it in, the brunette decided it did sound a bit familiar. Yes, she might have her his name a time or two, but she hadn't ever cared enough to listen to all the passing rambling and small talk that went on in Tortuga. Scowling, Annelise now realized what he had done. He had ruined her opportunity to escape. While anger started to boil under her skin, Annelise was taken back the man stepped forward toward her.
Eying the pistol that lay on the desk, Annelise debated on whether or not to take it for herself. However, as she debated with herself, the brunette came to the conclusion that perhaps the only reason anyone would be so foolish as to toss leverage must have meant that the pistol was perhaps no longer loaded? While she couldn't be sure, Annelise turned her attention back to this Jack Sparrow, watching as he casually took more steps toward her. Feeling a bit panicked by his actions, Annelise took a step back in response. What where his intentions? Especially since he had locked the cabin door. Beginning to feel like an animal backed into a corner, her green eyes looked around the room once more for anything, any way she could get off this ship. However, it seemed as though she truly was at the mercy of Jack, admitting to herself that yes, perhaps she was feeling a bit frightened. And yet, as he continued to get closer, Annelise was taken back when he offered her a seat and rum.
Eying him warily, the young woman caught him in the act as his brown eyes wandered down her form. At first she was offended, thinking him as a rude bastard. However, she couldn't control the smell blush she felt creeping up on her. As she looked back at him, she couldn't deny that he was attractive, devilishly so. Catching her mind wandering, Annelise mentally shook herself and bit the inside her cheek. She had to get away! It was now or never. Seemingly ignoring his 'request', Annelise dove for the pistol, aiming it at him and pulling the trigger. Unfortunately for Annelise, she was greeted with disappointment when nothing but the sound of a small click came from the gun. Frustrated, the young woman did the only thing she could think of. chucking the gun, she made to hit Jack. Hoping her silly, little plan would work, Annelise bolted for the door, attempting to succeed.

Jack could tell she was angry, could see her blood practically boiling under her skin and the fire flashing in his eyes causing his own to sparkle mischievously. He would never want to break a woman with such spirit, but it was such fun to tease them. He nearly laughed as she eyed the pistol, not at all expecting her to pick it up and try to use it against him. It took either a cold-blooded killer or a very frightened person to shoot someone in such close quarters and he didn't peg her for either. Yes, she seemed a bit afraid of him as she should be but she was relaxed enough to look him over with a small blush and that gave him all the leave he needed to dismiss her as a threat. At least, until she did actually try to shoot him. He could not have looked more shocked, but he quickly pulled his face into a cute pout. "Ahh, I see we're not going to play nice. Pity," he mumbled as she took off for the door. The sounds of heavy footsteps and swords being drawn reached his ears as he wrapped a strong arm around her waist and clapped his hand over her mouth so she couldn't shout. "Cap'n? Cap'n, are you alright we heard a shot," came the shout from the opposite side of the door and he guessed there to be at least three of his crew there. A little smile tugged at his lips at their concern, but he gave his plundering lass a stern 'see what you caused look' before responding. "Aye men, but what is it you planned to do had you found someone shooting at me?" There was a short pause before another of his men spoke up. "Well...we'd kill 'em, Captain." Jack nodded seriously for his lass's benefit. "Aye, good man..men....back to your posts!" He waited for their stomping footsteps to fade away before backing up with the girl in his arms, aiming to deposit her in the chair but tripping up a bit so he ended up landing in it himself with her in his lap. That suited him just fine, however, so he didn't bother to adjust the situation. "Now my bonny lass, I'd like to let you go so we could have a properly civil conversation. As you've heard, my crew would just as soon kill you as let you get off the ship with anything stolen. You'll likely not get out of this room but if you did you certainly wouldn't get off the ship. So, I'm going to take my hand away and you're going to behave, savvy?" He waited for her response before slowly removing his hand to rest on her thigh casually, more focused on her than any sexual implication that would cause. "I'm not going to hurt you, lass. You have my word on that." He stroked her side in a way that was meant to be comforting for her, but drove tiny electric shivers down his arm and through his chest. He had come to Tortuga for its fine selection of women, after all. But he wouldn't take advantage of her so he'd wait to see if she had the same thing on her mind. Reaching for his rum he took another drink before offering it to her again. Annelise squealed in surprise when one of his large, calloused hands covered her mouth, preventing her from being heard by the men that were shouting on the other side of the dense door that remained locked. Annelise wriggled in his grasp until she heard what the men said. They'd kill her? She did not want to die. However, Panic caused her to freeze up this time like a timid rabbit, keeping as still as possible as to not provoke an attack from the predator. She swallowed hard as her breath came in rapid breaths. She was really trying to calm down but the thought of Jack Sparrow tossing her into the lions den was too overwhelming. She would be gutted perhaps, or made to walk the plank and drown or become a meal for the beasts that lurk in the salty ocean waters.
A shiver passed down her spine as she nodded in an obedient fashion in reply to his words. When his hand was lifted from her mouth, Annelise was able to take a few proper deep breaths before turning around to look at Jack with wide eyes as his hand came to rest on one of her thighs. While she wasn't sure if she would tell him the truth of or, it was a little hard to come up with what she was going to say when she was sitting in his lap. He smelled of rum and the sea air, something she found wasn't as repulsing as one might think. Indeed it was actually sort a musky spice that he had to him. It made her want to lean in closer to him. However, she caught herself and made to lean back from him a bit, trying to give them both breathing room. After all, he wouldn't want to have a go with her.
At that thought Annelise's face felt hot as she knew a blush was creeping up her cheeks. It was then that she remembered that the handsome pirate had asked her a question. So he wanted to know what she was up to? Annelise hesitated to answer him as she thought. However, seeing as he might see right through her lie, she had no option but to admit her thievery. Reaching into her her corset, the brunette pulled out the two coins she had pocketed and tossed them to him, not caring if he would catch them or not. She quickly folded her arms and rolled her eyes, looking away from him. She hated getting caught.
"My business is my own, Sparrow and I wish to leave it that way."She replied, hoping he would simply leave the questioning at that.

Jack had to admit, the scared doe-eyed bunny look really fit on some girls and his bonny lap lass was one of them. Of course, he'd never take a distressing damsel over a girl who could hold her own, but she'd proven that it took a good bit of threatening to get her down. Even when he had her trapped in his arms, looking into the face of sudden defeat, she still had the gall to shoot a harsh barb back at him. Gods love a woman who was feisty. However, it certainly wasn't helping keep him threatening when a becoming blush spread across her skin and the strain of leaning away from him stretched her shirt against her shapely form. If he had been a younger man, unskilled in the art of composing himself to the highest degree, he might have pushed her back on his table to ravish her in such a way that would spread that blush down to her toes. It was lucky then that he was an established adult capable of controlling himself...mostly. As it was, he restrained himself to 'innocently' draw his hand up her thigh and 'casually' lean in to get a whiff of her girlish scent. She smelled like the sea, green and organic. That had always been a good sign for him. He found that women who smelled of perfumes and powder generally brought on more trouble than they were worth. Ahh, but wretched thieves weren't much better were they? No matter how attractive, you could never trust them long enough to get them out of your hair. His polite demeanor dropped considerably until his voice was a lethal warning like before. "Your business brought you to steal from me and by the Code, that means I get to choose your punishment. The popular favorite is walking the plank, but I've always preferred a nice duel. Do you think you can take me, lass?" His deep timbre was almost daring her to argue, to call his bluff. Obviously he didn't really want to fight her or harm her in any way. His first option would be to bed her and get her off his ship so he could set out but he would settle for just having her out of his sight. The familiar wavering in his gut told him that he needed to be off soon; he'd never been able to explain it but it was just some sort of instinct that alerted him to the most opportune timing in any situation. Over the years he had learned to follow it blindly and it hadn't yet steered him wrong. Of course, there was a little more time before he had to force this girl to vacate the warmth of his lap. "Ahh, but it doesn't matter. You were wildly unsuccessful in finding anything to pilfer so I suppose I should let you on your way. Unless you had some ulterior motive? Are you certain you weren't just aiming for a night with the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow?" word count: 509. tagged: Anna outfit: It's Jack.... notes: Sooo late. <3<3<3

Upon his suggestion of a duel, Annelise was taken back. While she did not want to walk the plank either, since the ship wasn't far off land, perhaps that wouldn't be too bad of a punishment after all. However, as Annelise thought on it, the pirate captain continued to talk, his rich voice lowering to a most dangerous tone as one of his large, rough hands managed to slid up Annelise's exposed thighs.
Finding it suddenly hard to concentrate on his words, Annelise, swallowed hard and licked her suddenly dry lips as his hand creped further up. However, just when Annelise was about to seemingly loose it to his ministrations, Jack's words brought her out of her stupor as he seemed to notice the effect he was having on her...or was he? Feeling embarrassed, Annelise tried to jump from his lap, taking slight offense to his words. However, She found his grip to strong, holding her firmly in place. Did he want her there? While she did not know, the brunette turned to meet his eyes, a scowl placed upon her face.
"And what makes you think that was my intentions, captain?" Came the quick response from the green eyed pirate lass, whom still struggled in his lap. Perhaps she would take him on after all...if she could get away that was.
However, as Annelise waited for his response, the young woman found that her young body couldn't deny the way his ha d briefly made her feel. His experienced touch, leaving her secretly wanting more, hoping he perhaps forget the idea of the plank and give her a more satisfying punishment. At the thought, Annelise scoffed at herself and such ideas. He was a complete stranger...almost. While she had heard his name in the Caribbean before and had heard from the women in Tortuga of what a magnificent lover he was, Annelise never thought she would end up on his lap this very night in a million years.. Was she actually in any real danger?Caution boiling up beneath her skin again, Annelise stopped her squirming.
