PERSONALITY
Ahoy, if you keep on desirin' more and more, it will only increase the damage on both sides purposelessly.
Edward is an extremely laid-back character, who is nearly always seen smiling, preferring to take his time as he and his crew travels around the world rather than rushing from one place to another. Eddie isn't cruel like many other pirate captains, nor does he rule over his crew with fear to gain respect. His friendly nature means he won't purposely seek to harm others, and he is able to make serious characters join in with his fun. Yet despite how simple minded he appears at first, England is a complex person with some rather difficult to understand views. For example, he believes if two people share very different views, it's better they go their separate ways. He also is against the idea of needless bloodshed, even if honor is involved and so far seems to only step up for a fight when a friend is in danger. He also seems to admire those who have courage.
He also has a more reckless attitude when faced against other pirates that the Marines have labeled as a higher threat. He has always been described as an "odd one out" - even though he is more than capable of assuming the role of a Captain and commandeering (nautical term) a crew and a ship, he prefers to hang about his crewmates and help them out with stuff rather than just stick around and procrastinate while others pull his weight for him. He is intelligent, capable of knowing when he and his immediate Crew are in a pinch, and is not above resorting to forging brief alliances with rivals for survival. He speaks in a polite manner, with a calm and slow tone, parting from the traditional rough tone of most pirates - he still retains the vocabulary, however. He appears to be honorable enough to refuse taking credit that is due to others.
The reason for his most famous epithet "Merciful Pirate" is self-explanatory and one of the main reasons he's called "The Odd One Out"; if the ones stated above were not already notable. His mercy is infamous; he has been known to pardon many crews and people who have crossed his path, even if it was against his own interest at times. Very rarely does he kill and he is always known to fight in self-defence. He is also called the most generous pirate that has ever lived, mainly because of two reasons: he only steals from other pirates and every year he gives away a portion of his amassed loot as charity. As such, he has suffered mutiny a whole lot of times as well thanks to his more "pirate" Crewmembers. Thus his most recognizable (and perhaps admirable) trait is also his biggest flaw as a pirate, it appears.
Even though he almost exclusively fights in self-defence, when he does fight, he's often vicious. Seegar also appears to have a sense of honor (or at least respect for those he sees as potential rivals in the future), often times helping his enemies because it would be "too lame" if his future rivals were to die. Perhaps what he considers as one of his weaknesses, Edward is also very blunt when responding to people. Such occasions include when people ask if he is a friend of other people he saves, to which he often replies "no," and even offers to make an excuse to make the askers feel better about him saving the people they want to kill.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE;
Captain England always wears a long black cape over his shoulders and a straw hat obtained from his previous captain, both of which are synonymous with his image. He initially wears slightly loose brown trousers cut below the knee and collected halfway up the shin, with golden buttons down the outer leg. Recently he has been seen wearing a similar pair, but looser and with floral patterns on it. He wears a pair of sandals and is unshaven with a short scruffy beard. Edward is almost exclusively seen in a white shirt that is only buttoned halfway, leaving his chest exposed. Around his waist is a large red sash, which also holds his sabre on the right side.
The most striking thing about Edward is the color of his red hair, where his nickname 'Red-Hair' comes from. He also has three diagonal scars across his left eye, remnants of the mutiny he had to face as a result of showing too much mercy. His effects include his large sabre that he obtained from India during one of his exploits in the Indian ocean and a weapon he's deadly with, as well as a compass that is tied onto his left arm like a wrist-watch and Captain Winter's infamous straw hat. He is also known to carry around charts and maps should he require or obtain them, which usually find themselves attached to the left side of the sash on his waist.

WHAT'S YOUR STORY, SAILOR
FAMILY;
Jonathan Seegar (father, deceased)
Christopher Winter (former Captain, executed)
BACKGROUND;
The man that became infamous by the name Edward England was born Edward Seegar in the Waterford town of Ireland. To date, he has no idea why people began to call him Edward England of all things - he thinks even Edward Ireland would have been acceptable. Or Edward Irishman. Either ways, Edward, or Eddie as he was called by those dear to him, was a helpful hand ever since he was born. A good seed, he always helped out those who were the more underprivileged members of the society he grew up in. His mother he never knew, but his father, a naval officer by the name of Jonathan Seegar worked aboard a Jamaican sloop which young Eddie joined as he came of age. This sloop, however, was soon captured by the pirate Captain Christopher Winters and him and his father sooner than later became one with the Captain's crew. Serving as a cabin boy and apprentice, at some point, Eddie acquired Winter's straw hat, although the circumstances behind Seegar acquiring the hat from Winter are one of his best kept secrets. He spent most of his time together with fellow trainee, John Taylor, arguing over meaningless things, such as which pole was colder, the North or the South.
As he grew up, he witnessed Christopher Winter's execution at 'Execution Dock', Wapping, in London (he was disguised) after he was finally detained by the Marines and thus set out to amass his own crew to begin his own adventures. He was successful getting men in Tortuga from where he sailed out, into the African seas where he continued plundering: yet displaying countless feats of being more anti-other pirates than anti-government or anti-people. Obtaining a flagship, the "Royal James", Seegar became famous (for one reason or another) by the name of "Merciful Pirate" Captain England. Captain England built a whole fleet of pirate ships: "Royal James", "Cadogan" and the "Fancy" being among them. It was during this time that he is also credited for making famous the Jolly Roger, the skull and crossbones symbol - although if asked he would clarify that he hates the damn thing and it was his First Mate Taylor's doing. He personally had a thing for plain black or dark green flags without any insignia on them. But either ways, "Merciful Pirate" England was soon considered one the Big Leagues even though he never formally made it to the rank of Pirate Lord. Unfortunately, Captain England's merciful nature proved to be his own downfall.
His crew had begun to become tired with their Captain's attitude towards prisoners, particularly during an engagement between Captain England's forces and the East India Company. Edward Seegar faced off against the EIC member Captain James Macrae, the Royal James and the Fancy versus the Cassandra. It turned into a fight to the finish and the battle lasted for hours, even when ships ran aground. Finally, Captain Macrae was forced to escape to the shore, leaving his precious ship behind. The Fancy was totally demolished , and pirates had much more casualties. The crew of the Fancy demanded to torture and kill the crew of the Cassandra who had taken 90 of their men, but Captain England would not allow it, knowing that the Cassandra was only engaging them on Macrae's orders. Lo and behold, the crew of the Royal James and Fancy cried mutiny and the next thing you know Captain England is stranded on Mauritius with three of the Captain's loyal followers.
Edward somehow managed to make a boat and set out with his loyal followers, which included his first mate John Taylor and "Sea-Cook" John Silver, before sending them away, telling them he had disbanded the crew. Edward Seegar spent the next few years in limbo, under the radar of the world. For the next nine years he would travel around the seas of the world under one guise or another, at first trying to find himself and then trying to get himself a new ship. His efforts were successful, and nine years later Captain England returns to Tortuga with The Victory, intent on finding himself a crew and putting some of his rather overdue charity money into the pockets of Tortuga's lowest.

"Plans? My plans? You actually care about them?" Rin said that under her breath, but perhaps it could have been loud enough for her sister to hear. Or maybe not. There was no point though. She learnt just a few moments prior that the man had enhanced hearing - he had caught her whispering to Izumi before. If she were to communicate her plan to Izumi, he would obviously overhear. So, she decided on the next best thing. "I got nothing, just keep doing what you're doing while I try to think of something," Rin paused a minute, before shrugging her shoulders.
"What?" she feigned. "I may be smart, but it takes longer than that to outsmart Raikage-ya!" the purple-haired witch whisper-yelled to her sister, fully aware that the Raikage might be listening. She was still making hand seals though - he was listening, yes, but he was not seeing. Unless his sense of smell was so undeniably epic that it allowed him to sense movements in the air currents. Then, they were screwed. Still, Rin winked at Izumi, having finished her hand seals and now focusing the chakra to her mouth.
She waited for Izumi to go forth for another charge. The flaw in her plan, of course, was the deadly thing that if she shot out her gigantic glob of acid at Raikage-ya, Izumi-ya was it risk of getting molten to her constituent elements. If this test was of any use to the girl, so far, it had taught her that she needed to upgrade her Genjutsu arsenal with more Genjutsu based on other senses than just sound. Still, as Izumi would charge forth at the Raikage, Rin would promptly follow, trying her best to hide the sound of her own footsteps.
Maybe if by some miracle Izumi could scream out a battle cry as they charged. The noise would cover her footsteps in Raikage-ya's personal radar. Oh, if only they could communicate their exact plan. But this was Rin's best bet. So, trying her best to mask her footsteps behind Izumi's louder and stronger ones, the girl prepared to fire the Tongue Tooth Sticky Acid at the Raikage the moment he dodged Izumi's attack.
