so here we have helena, who is the epitome of an angel fallen from grace. she was a monarch, the illegitimate child of a spanish lady and a pirate. she still to this day does not know her father was a pirate, and was always told that he was a general who had died in battle shortly after she was born. her mother committed suicide after news reached her of her father's death, but whether or not he is actually dead is up in the air.
she left the life of a monarch for pirating when she was very young, winning her ship off of a drunken admiral in tortuga when she was seventeen. she's a fierce leader, good with a sword and has an even quicker tongue. she's charming, sophisticated, quick as a whip, and dangerous. so, who wants to play?

helena prefers to keep people at a distance, so she probably wouldn't have many friends. she sees people who are close to her as a liability, and doesn't want to be dragged down by her care for them. now, don't get me wrong, if she does become friends with someone, she will be fiercly loyal, and would have no problem risking her life to save them. she was, before her pirating, a lady of class, so i can imagine her being friends with everyone from a high ranking lady to a whore in tortuga.
i could imagine she and her first mate would probably be very close. i would prefer her first mate to be a man, probably the opposite of lena. where she's small and loud, he would be big and quiet, not only a friend but a body guard as well.
because of who she is, helena has a lot of enemies. not only because of her constant plunders of naval ships, but she also is a bit of a handful. she can be arrogant, rude, and just down right mean if she is provoked. she has a quick temper, as well, can be very violent when angry.
she also is a bit of a flirt, and has probably gained more than her fair share of enemies because of it. she's well known throughout the pirate community for her arrogance and her vanity, which is how she earned her nickname 'the pirate princess'
despite the fact that helena is a pirate, and a flirt, she's never been involved with anyone. she's never had a lover simply because she's never trusted anyone enough to get close to her. like i said, she sees people as a liability, and is afraid that her love for someone can be used against her. however, i like messing with my character's minds so i do want her to fall in love eventually, simply because it would knock her off her feet.
i love the drama! so i would love for her to fall for a married man or a navy officer. heck, i would even be okay with her falling for another woman, simply for the drama. if you're interested, we could have way too much fun with this.
